The 30 day blog challenge was pretty easy. I never used a plastic throw away water bottle once.

The most difficult part was not having the convenience of just throwing it away when I'm done.

The easiest part to change was

I think I could probably continue not using the water bottles, but eventually I would use the plastic ones.

I think it was a good experience to try, but not something I could do for much longer.

I haven't inspired anyone else, but they do know what I was doing.

I would like to try a not using as much water challenge because I tend to use a lot of water in the morning when getting ready.

I would also suggest the water challenge because it save water and also save money.

One benefit is that I've reduced the amount of room taken up in the trash can which means less times taking it out. An obstacle I've encountered is the convenience of using up the bottle then simply throwing it away.

I've reduced the amount of fossil fuels used to make the water bottles which helps the environment and the economy. They require huge amounts of fossil fuels to both make and transport them.

What I can do to make it easier is make sure to tell my mother not to buy any plastic water bottles so there is no temptation to use them.

I've replaced them with reusable water bottles that I previously owned. Using those reduce the amount of plastic bottles found in dumps.

I've made many aware by telling them why I'm doing this and what impact is has on the environment.

Blog Entry 1: Before the 30 day challenge

I am giving up using plastic disposable water bottles

I am giving them up because i can re-use other water bottles I own without having to throw away plastic.

 It impacts the environment in many ways.
1. single use bottles take over 1000 years to bio-degrade
2. U.S landfills are overflowing with around 2 million tons of discarded water bottles alone
3. It takes 1.5m barrels of oil to meet the demand of U.S water bottle manufacturing.

It will affect the companies who produce the bottle, deliver the bottle, source the water for the bottle, and sell the bottle

My goals for this challenge is to only use re-usable water bottles that I have already purchased. Also, don't use or buy single use plastic water bottles.

The challenges I see is the convenience of using throw away bottles, having to carry around a bigger bottle than a plastic bottle.

There are many ways to get the word out of what I'm doing. for one they can read this blog. Also I could just simply tell them, or if I notice that they're using a plastic water bottle, tell them that they should switch over to reusable ones.
